VSI Tampa Flames Announce Open Try-out for W-League Team

VSI Tampa Flames W-League team today announced dates and details for the club's open tryouts in preparation for the 2012 W-League season.
VSI's Open Tryouts will be held on May 1st and May 5th at the JC Handly Sports Complex in Brandon, Florida. The session on May 1 will run from 6:00-7:30pm. On May 5th, the session will be held from 3:00-4:30pm. VSI's head coach Joshua S. Walters, Sr. and staff will be on hand to evaluate players.
The cost for the try-outs is $25 and please come prepared with appropriate equipment to train. Players are asked to check in at the clubhouse at the sports complex before the sessions begin.
"Because we are in the final stages of solidifying the roster, the tryouts will essentially be a final point to officially identify and select a pool of talented players who will compete for roster spots on the 2012 VSI Tampa Flames team," says Coach Walters. "Tryouts will be a great opportunity to see where potential players are at both physically and mentally. As a staff, we will be sure to educate players on the standards and expectations that will come along with being a member of the Flames' team. Our goal is to come away from the week having selected our final roster that will help to make the Flames successful this coming summer."

The Flames opens their season on the road at 5:30 pm, Friday, May 11th vs. the Charlotte Lady Eagles at Charlotte Christian Stadium. Their home opener is two days later when they face the Central SC Cobras at 5:00pm, Sunday May 13th at JC Handly Park.
